100 Days Smarter!
We are 100 days smarter since starting school way back in September, and we figured that this called for a celebration!
Carnival Trip to Aalst!
Years 1 & 2 recently visited the 'Carnavalshallen & Museum' in Aalst! This tied in with both the Celebrations and Constructions Units the children worked on in school.
Free Hot Chocolate & Croissants
With the Arctic temperatures that we are experiencing these days, our PTA is offering free hot chocolate and croissants tomorrow! Sorry parents, only for the students and teachers ;-)
Carnival 2018
At Da Vinci, we encourage a love of reading. Since Carnival is all about celebration, we joined in the fun by celebrating a talented author and the lovely characters from her books.
This year students dressed up as characters from the books of Julia Donaldson! The Early Years and Lower School teachers read many of her books and all classes enjoyed exciting activities related to her stories.
These amazing and creative costumes in the photos were made by the students themselves or their talented parents. We saw many Julia Donaldson characters including the Highway Rat, scarecrows, ladybirds, the Big Bad Mouse, the Gruffalo, Stickman, witches and even the snail and the whale!
As per tradition, this year’s Mr and Mrs Carnival were selected and announced. Congratulations to the winners! Thank you to all the parents and teachers for their participation and for making it a fun-filled Carnival day!
