Y7&8 MAS Museum Trip
For their unit of Curiosity Year 7/8 went to the MAS Museum area to go 'geocaching'.
Geocaching is a fun and active way to explore. You can do it anywhere in the world by using the 'Geocaching' app! It was a cold day but luckily we found one geocache!
Y4 Field Trip to: Cinquantenaire Museum
To end their IPC topic of ‘Temples, Tombs and Treasures’, Year 4 went to the Cinquantenaire Museum in Brussels.
We had an interesting tour of the Ancient Egyptian artefacts and treasures but the best part was seeing a real egyptian mummy! After the tour, we made our own clay amulets and had lunch in the beautiful Jubelpark, before returning to school!
Y3&4 Field Trip: Belgian Chocolate Visit
Belgium is world famous for chocolate and who doesn't like chocolate?!
Years 3 and 4 went on a culinary exploration to the Belgian Chocolate Village in Brussels where they attended a workshop with a real chocolatier and made their own chocolates! Hmmm... yummy! Talk about "hands-on" learning!
In the museum they discovered how chocolate is made and the journey from cocoa bean to chocolate bar. They even saw a real cocoa tree in the tropical greenhouse along with turmeric plants, banana trees and a vanilla bean orchid!
In the afternoon the students visited the Koekelberg Basilica. The basilica is listed as the 5th largest church in the world. They went all the way up to the panorama gallery at 52.80 meters just under the dome for a breathtaking view of Brussels. They could even see the Atomium from up there!
