Da Vinci International School has the following vacancies:

1. Primary Teacher: to start on the 24th August 2020

2. Daycare Supervisor: to start on the 1st June 2020

Primary Teacher: to start on the 24th August 2020

We are looking for a fully qualified Primary Teacher for children aged 8 to 9 to join our school from the 24th August 2020.

Candidates should have the following qualities:

  • good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • flexible team player
  • sense of humour
  • up-to-date ICT skills
  • ability to work independently

All candidates should:

  • have Qualified Teacher Status (B.Ed. or PGCE or equivalent for primary education)
  • be fluent in English
  • be able to teach in the Year 4 age range
  • have at least 2 years continual experience of teaching a primary curriculum to whole classes of children
  • be eligible to live and work in the EU

Daycare Supervisor: to start on the 1st June 2020

We are currently seeking to appoint two daycare supervisors in order to provide childcare for our school during the Covid-19 shut down. Duties will include the indoor and outdoor supervision of children in line with the Belgian Government’s Covid-19 Health and Safety regulations.

The role of the Daycare Supervisor is as follows:

  • To provide safe and stimulating care to children;
  • To promote and safeguard the welfare of all children, maintaining a constant awareness of all issues relating to child protection and safeguarding;
  • To be vigilant while supervising children to ensure their health, safety and happiness during break times;
  • To be a presence on the playground (and around classrooms during wet breaks), being mindful of line of sight at all times;
  • To follow the Covid-19 routines, such as ensuring that children line up quietly and correctly once the bell has rung;
  • To abide by the staff code of conduct;
  • To take shared responsibility for the pastoral care of the children and ensure good personal relationships are fostered between the children themselves and with the staff;
  • To participate in overseeing the behaviour and discipline of the children in accordance with the school behaviour policy;
  • To liaise closely with the Head of Section who will then liaise with relevant members of the Senior Leadership Team and other staff members regarding any children of concern;
  • To provide first aid for children for minor injuries;
  • To be a good role model in respect of speech, dress, behaviour and care of equipment.

Essential qualities:

  • Previous experience of working with children, ideally in a school context.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Be eligible to live and work in the EU.
