We are currently seeking a:

MYP/DP French: 0.6 ± FTE

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching ability and be experienced in teaching French in line with the IB MYP and DP curriculum. A willingness to work collaboratively and plan across the curriculum to meet the needs of all learners is essential as is the desire to work closely with parents and to support school events.

  • Contract: Part-time

Learning Support Teacher

For an immediate start, we are seeking a full-time, enthusiastic English speaking Learning Support teacher to join our dedicated and committed teaching faculty. Da Vinci International School is in the process of becoming an IB World School and we are currently in the authorisation stages for the PYP.

  • Contract: Full-time fixed contract until 30th June 2024, renewable by mutual agreement.
  • Starting date: Immediate

Specific Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning 

  • Supporting the placement and transition of students for different levels of Learning Support
  • Advocating for students who are involved in the Learning Support programme
  • Ensuring that all Learning Support students have plans with which to maximise their potential and effectively accommodate their individual learning profile, needs and preferences
  • Maintaining an up-to-date Learning Support Register and communicating regularly with teachers regarding the needs of students
  • Working closely with the counselling and and EAL teams
  • Keeping up-to-date with current theory and best practice in relation to Learning Support
  • Teaching Students receiving Learning Support in dedicated classes as per the schedule commitments
  • Supporting class teachers to differentiate for students in general and this receiving Learning Support in particular
  • Supporting students in and out of lessons as per the schedule commitments and as per need

Assessment and Reporting 

  • Coordinating Learning Support assessment for the admissions process
  • Liaising with external professionals as needed

Curriculum development (Additional services)

  • Initiating and overseeing the programme of support within the school
  • Promoting and modelling best practice in co-teaching, a learner-centred approach and a highly collaborative approach to team-planning (within and beyond the LS team)
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of a learner-centred approach to Learning Support
  • Attending and contributing, as needed, to team meetings and developing concepts from these meetings with the rest of the school

Social and emotional aspects of learning as a teacher and tutor (Services to students)

  • Coordinate support for colleagues, parents and students
  • Involving all team members in the school’s strategic
  • Coordinating LS support outside of lesson times and ensuring parents and students are aware of this support

Supporting the collaborative culture at Da Vinci (Services to Parents)

  • Provide guidance, support and orientation for new Da Vinci families
  • Coordinating and attending parent workshops as needed
  • Confer with parents, students or teachers regarding individual student progress and needs
  • Working with the Leadership Team, the Admissions Team, the IB Coordinators on the transition between Primary and Secondary, including facilitating assessments as needed
  • Working with colleagues in maintaining a whole school philosophy for Learning Support.
  • Coordinating the co-teaching allocation in consultation with the Language Acquisition English Team
  • Supporting teachers in communications with parents and students

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Hold of an EU passport or valid working papers for Belgium
  • A specialist, up-to-date knowledge of Learning Support.
  • An understanding of IB Primary Years, Middle Years and IB Diploma programmes.
  • A comprehensive understanding of effective teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Experience of learning of Learning Support across the school levels.
  • Current qualification to teach Learning Support at school level.
  • Ideally, 2 years of recent and relevant school classroom experience.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Competence in using technology for both learning and information management purposes.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • A specialist, up-to-date knowledge of pedagogy for Learning Support.
  • A commitment to holistic, learner centred education.
  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of children of 3 - 18 years.

Early Years Class Teacher

For an immediate start, we are seeking a full-time, enthusiastic English speaking Early Years class teacher to join our dedicated and committed teaching faculty. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an outstanding teaching ability and ideally be an experienced IB PYP teacher.

  • Have experience teaching the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Flexible team player
  • Sense of humour
  • Up-to-date ICT skills
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively

All candidates should:

  • Have a recognised Pre-School teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, Prof. bach. Onderwijs etc.)
  • Be fluent in English
  • Be able to teach in the 2½ - 4 years age range
